The exhibition in V&A reflect the shift from literacy to electracy very well, and I can see a new cultural phenomenon of networked art and new media innovations.
The internet is a new media to seek, organize, convey information for artists and designers. It can be very experimental, and we can see the aesthetic practices when the artists translate written words into network installation. For example, the work “We Feel Fine” present human’s imaginary about technology, personal stories, the relationship and so on. “These combine elements of computer science, statistics, anthropology, visual art and storytelling.”(http://www.vam.ac.uk/microsites/decode/exhibition/network) Which means new media networked practices are hybrid forms and it can be experimental, and it is a process of collaborative creativity. Beside that, there is wonderful color and dynamic elements in the screen which are created with the tool of computer science. It brings aesthetic sense to the art work, which maximize the visual effects of the words. Obviously, written texts can not achieve this visualisations which can be more understandable. Thus, the digital traces improve the communications, and it would promote some new types of social interaction and encourage more self-expression.
